1. YOU ARE A VERY PRIVATE PERSON AND YOU WANT YOUR DAY TO BE INTIMATE
When making this decision, you have to be true to yourself and your partner. Big weddings though amazing are not the most private, intimate and can have quite a few distractions. That’s why in most cases, once the day is complete, you look back on it and you’re like… omg, that went by so fast! Did I even eat? Haha! It’s true that the day goes by quite quickly, so missing out on certain special moments and conversations, etc. can definitely occur.
However, with elopements, you’d find that you get an opportunity to be really bond with your partner and the few loved ones that you chose to join you (if any). It’s a very different experience, and one that is genuine and meaningful in so many ways. So, this is something to take into consideration.
2. ADVENTURE LOVERS UNITE!
Need I say more? We LIVE for unique experiences and adventure! So, if you’d love to get married on a gorgeous mountain surrounded by lush greenery, or at an ultra-luxe villa in the Caribbean, then you should definitely take this opportunity and make it happen! We cannot wait to help you plan it by the way…woohoo!
3. TRADITION IS JUST NOT YOUR CUP OF TEA
We’ll just come out and say it…you should design your wedding in the way that feels right to you. Tradition or not, it’s your decision so create the day that you have always envisioned, and not one that someone else may have in mind for you. If you would rather jet set to Tulum for an intimate cenote elopement, or have a sweet symbolic destination wedding in the beautiful Bahamas, then do whatever makes you light up! You have the freedom to customize your day in any way possible, so ensure that you choose something that you will cherish for the rest of your lives.
4. YOUR BUDGET IS ESSENTIAL
Now, THIS is a gamechanger when it comes down to choosing between a traditional wedding or an elopement. We’ll come out and say it right off the bat, elopements are definitely more cost-effective. The reality is that your cost will drop considerably because you have less guests to accommodate for and less details to plan for, eg. décor, event rentals, etc. So, if you’re on a tight budget, but still want to be a little adventurous, then eloping is definitely an option to consider.
