Lori-Ann and Dylan celebrated their love at a beautifully stylish venue in the Bahamas’ Out Islands, the Bluff House Beach Resort & Marina. Since the venue itself is so elegant, and has a classic Victorian style, the couple chose to keep the decor simple and minimalist, with hints of tree green and white to go with the beautiful white sand.
We are so in awe of this couple, and their unique style which can be seen in every shot taken by the amazing Braxton Gardiner Photography. Grab a tissue and get ready to shed some tears loves, because our first feature of the week is just the cutest thing! It’s definitely worth the read…and yes, its loaded with inspiration for your own destination wedding (of course)!

“Dylan and I met in our second year of University. We were friends at first but it soon became more than that. He was genuinely such a caring and attentive person.” Lori-Ann says.
For the proposal, the couple was celebrating Lori-Ann’s graduation and decided to do something exciting.
“We went on an air balloon ride at sunrise. It was gorgeous! We ate breakfast at our favourite place and headed out to our favourite hiking spot to do a mini photo shoot with my grad hat and some champaign. When we got to the peak, we set up a blanket and started drinking and taking pictures. Dylan then told me to turn around and there he was on bended knee with the perfect ring!” says the lovely bride.
For the decor, Lori-Ann wanted a minimalist vibe because she believed that less is more.
“Being in the Bahamas was already so beautiful, there wasn’t much that was needed. We stuck to colours that complimented our surroundings, Tree green and white like the sand and shells.” says Lori-Ann.
The couple had so many meaningful moments throughout the day, so we could only imagine how hard it would be to choose “favourites”, but we still had to ask (of course)!
“It’s so hard to choose! But our ceremony was so special. My husband’s grandfather officiated, and his words were so beautiful. The speeches made me cry just as much. Words are so important to us, so it was so special to have everyone supporting us so much.”
THE DRESS
“I went to a dress fitting at a local bridal shop and was disappointed that nothing suited my style. I wanted to feel myself in the dress I chose. I came across Grace Loves Lace on Instagram and was so in love with how simple but breathtaking their dresses were. The Verdalle 2.0 stuck out to me and I couldn’t get that dress off my mind after I saw it. It was just so me!”
We always love when couples have special surprises on their wedding day, and this couple is no exception to this!
“We loved the idead of a destination wedding because it wasnt just a one day ordeal, hi and bye between our families. We wanted everyone to mix and mingle and chat with each other, so we planned a few things for them leading up to the wedding. The evening everyone arrived we had a welcome Bonfire with S’mores and drinks and games. It was such a goof opportunity to get to know each other. Then on the night before the wedding we embarked on a Sunset Cruise, saw some wild pigs, sang some Kareoke and danced a little. Our families mesh so well together.”
THE WEDDING CAKE
“Fiona from the Bluffhouse made our cake. I wanted just one cake but two different flavours and she made it happen. It was so simple and so yummy!”
THE VENUE
“We chose the Bluffhouse Resort because of the truly incredible views and awesome beaches surrounding. I had never been to this island so I really didn’t know what I was getting, but we wanted to be adventurous. We went on faith and pictures! It didn’t disappoint.”
THE WEDDING PLANNER
“We had Molly from the Bluffhouse help me figure things out from afar since I didn’t get to visit the island before the wedding. She did an amazing ironing out the kinks for me including running back to my room to grab my vows right before I walked down the aisle.”
THE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
“We had so much fun with our wedding photographer, Braxton Gardiner. He is truly talented!”
Lori-Ann and Dylan decided to stay at Green Turtle Cay for their honeymoon.
“There were so many things to do and explore, but we mostly wanted to relax on the beach. The island was so quiet and serene, and the locals were so nice, we felt like we lived there after almost three weeks staying there.” says Lori-Ann.

ANY ADVICE FOR BRIDES TO BE & COUPLES?
“Have your dream wedding. Make it happen. You only have one chance and you won’t regret it. Be creative, don’t try to fit the mould. That’s my two cents.”

Thank you so mucho Lori-Ann, Dylan and Adriana Wed Vendor Braxton Gardiner Photography for sending this exquisite album to us!
