Divine, elegant, timeless, memorable: everything that this beautiful Bahamas wedding was and so much more. Captured by the amazing Terrel W. Carey, with a stunning backdrop of Windways Private Residence in Nassau, Emilio and Nakita had a beautiful ceremony, and intimate reception filled with unique elements that made their personalities shine through.
It always blows us away when couples decide to be a little less traditional for their wedding day, and by the sounds of it, it seems as though their guests were just as mesmerised.
Hear more from the lovely bride below…
“Emilio and I worked close to each other, so we had known each other for a while. But, after stealing his chair one night at a bar, the rest was history.”
“The Proposal was so romantic. He had a pianist play some of my favorite songs that we danced to, and then he got on his knees and proposed.”
“We had about 110 guests at our wedding. We wanted a very small intimate wedding but my family is huge and my husband knows so many people. We wanted them all there so we ended up with over 100 people.”
“My fondest memory from our wedding day, was walking up the aisle, knowing I was about to marry my best friend. And my husband’s was the words that my father whispered to him right before he gave me away.”
“My mother and sister were with me when I went wedding dress shopping. My sister actually picked out the dress believe it or not, and I knew it was the one when I didn’t want to try anymore on!”
“My husband and I chose a mix between rustic and modern. We know this was a little rare, but it blended together really well for us. We were very non-traditional with our wedding decor and loved it.”
These grey suits were so outstanding! Though we love the classic black, grey is definitely a fashion trend that we are loving for 2017.
“My husband thinks he is Batman. Seriously. All of his friends know this, so one decided to dress up as Batman and give a speech. It was priceless!”
“My husband and I are not big fans of fondant. We wanted something that didn’t have a lot of icing so we chose a naked cake. It ended up being the best decision ever, as it blended seamlessly with our theme – it was perfect!”
“We love music. So we had a mix of everything that you can possibly imagine. From R&B, Soca, Bahamian music, Pop, Rock & even Country music. We had such an awesome time at our reception. We danced the night away with our guests and even ended up in the pool!”
“For our honeymoon, we decided to go to Costa Rica. It was absolutely incredible! We fell in love with the country, and definitely can’t wait to go back!”
DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR NEWLY-ENGAGED COUPLES?
“Through all of the chaos and stress of planning a wedding, don’t lose sight of what’s important…each other.”
Thank you so much to the lovely couple Emilio and Nakita for sharing their love story with us, and to the amazing Terrel W. Carey for their beautiful pictures!
