Brian and I met in college at Niagara University. We got to know each other while we were working as resident assistants in the same dorm. However, we didn’t date during this time and parted ways after college. We reconnected 4 years later in 2007. I made the move to California from NJ to be with family in 2012. Brian stayed behind for a year to finish out his teaching contract. After almost a year of long-distance living he surprised me during a girls day away at the Island Hotel. He planned with his cousin Bridget to get me up to the suite he rented and had it all setup with rose petals. I was so confused when we first walked in until he appeared and got down on his knee!

Our inspiration for the wedding theme were romantic chic, with natural tones – white/cream flowers with greenery and touches of light blue with the bridesmaids dresses, groomsmen ties, and invitations.

The planning process was fun and stressful all at the same time. My year with work was much busier than I ever anticipated. I loved working with Bonnie to make the vision I had in my head come to life.

There are a lot of little details in any wedding, but it’s much different than I originally expected when you’re not physically near the location. Brian and I always knew we wanted a destination wedding and it was important to us to find someone we could count on to help us in the right direction. Bonnie was the perfect fit for us and made sure we had everything we wanted!

The whole day and weekend was absolutely amazing. Spending time with our family and friends was priceless. However, two things stand out. Our ceremony was magical as we said our own vows and having my Dad walk me down the aisle. Having my Dad there is even more special looking back now as since our wedding he has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer. The look in his eyes and the smile on his face I will never forget! Our reception rocked as well. The decor was beautiful and everyone danced the night away.
