Thankfully Leslie & Graham got married before Covid-19 officially began and they feel so blessed that they were able to comfortably share this special day with their loved ones in such a gorgeous destination. They feel head over heels in love with their venue in San Jose del Cabo, and just knew that their boho chic decor would complement this dreamy space, and they were 100% right.

FROM THE COUPLE:

“When asked by our wonderful wedding planner what our main goal for our wedding was, I quickly answered that my husband and I wanted to feel like guests at our wedding and not mystical creatures that our guests only caught occasional glimpses of from a distance.

Right away I knew a destination wedding would be the perfect fit.

Not only could we enjoy a fun vacation, we also would get the opportunity to enjoy it with our closest family and friends. Ultimately we selected Acre Baja, which provided a perfect location to have a small intimate wedding, while feeling grand and spacious. We are thankful that we got to spend so much time with each guest and have the opportunity to connect with everyone during such an important life event. Now that we are in COVID, I am even more thankful that I got to experience such an amazing and fun trip with so many people we cared about, we were truly blessed.

When we started planning our wedding, the to-do that I took the most time and care with picking was our venue. We found the perfect location at Acre Baja in the beautiful San Jose del Cabo. I fell in love with Acre’s luscious greenery that makes you feel like you are in a tropical oasis, paired with its modern design and natural elements that added the sophistication and uniqueness of the venue.

It is truly such a visual treat to be at Acre.

Every corner and nook has such alluring and elegant design elements that shows how much time and creativity was put into designing a lush sanctuary. With Acre as our venue, we knew that our photos would have the most impressive backdrop and convey an earthy elegance.

As for décor, we wanted simple, soft and natural elements with touches of color to compliment the design of Acre, but not take away or distract from the beauty that Acre has to offer. And finally one of the strongest elements of Acre is the most amazing and fresh farm-to-table food. There is not one food item that they create that wont leave you craving for more. Forget the boring and bland wedding buffet, our guests to this day talk about how delicious the food was at our wedding! Even as the bride and groom, we made it a point to truly enjoy a full meal and each every single item that we offered on our wedding day. I cannot wait to go back to Acre and celebrate future wedding anniversaries at my now favorite restaurant.

When selecting our vendors, we simply selected vendors who had strong portfolios with Acre. Through wedding blogs and social media, we were able to find the best team to help guide us through the wedding planning and the flow of our wedding day. Believe it or not, but our wedding day was the calmest and carefree day I have ever had.

Normally I am moving a million miles a minute and hands on with planning and preparing, but thanks to our skilled wedding planners and our wonderful photographers my husband and I had not one worry and we were truly able to calmly enjoy the day and appreciate every moment. From the makeup artist, videographers, to the DJ each vendor was so talented and professional and amazing at what they do. From beginning to end, we knew that we were in great hands and that we would have nothing to worry about.

Ultimately our wedding was such a perfect day for the two of us, and we are so thankful to all the individuals who helped make that possible. I will cherish these memories and photos for the rest of my life.”

Leslie & Graham were married in November 2019 at Acre Baja in Los Cabos.

In the couple’s words “We loved the look of Acre and wanted our wedding to further enhance the Acre vision. We love the color, yet easy going feel of a tropical background. We loved the balance between nature and the geometric tiles and cool concrete used throughout the venue. Our vision was to create a fun going and light environment while having a clean and timeless wedding.”

Acre Baja is a farm to table restaurant in Los Cabos. The grounds spread in an oasis-like landscape and uses graphic tiles on the main dining area, the pool and several openair private dining rooms. The restaurant offers a family style dining experience, as well as delicious cocktails that showcase Mexican mezcal and tequila. Seating on the outback of Cabo, inside a real farm and several of its animals are seen regularly around the property, especially Chucky, the peacock.

Leslie is a nurse of Mexican and Nicaraguan descent, while Graham is an engineer from Colorado. Really close to their families, both have siblings who along with their closest friends formed the couple’s wedding party.

The wedding ceremony was at the lawn next to a mix of desert and tropical plants. The wedding party walked individually and only the maid-of-honor and best man stood next to the couple. The bride was walked down the aisle by both her parents. Each mom made a reading and the bride’s dad and groom’s step-dad lit candles for the unity ceremony.

Cocktail hour included a mariachi band while guests mingled and tasted Acre’s delicious appetizers by the pool, taking photos with the wedding’s available polaroid and wrote little notes for the couple, collected in a box.

Leslie described her dress as business on the front and party on the back. The gown has beautiful beaded work forming a gorgeous white foliage pattern with an open back. Graham chose a green suit, after debating between blue and green and getting advice from their wedding planner Emmanuel Vega with Vivid Occasions who rightly pointed out it would be more unique and match beautifully with Acre’s colors.

From the blueish grey bridesmaids dresses and dinnerware and table accents, to the tan colored groomsmen suits and the pampas grass which were matched with blush and white flowers and coral blooms on the floral arrangements. The modern style reflecting and complementing the venue.

At night the reception designs came to life. The hexagonal metal arch at the ceremony was used as a background for the sweetheart table at the center of it all. Tons of candle light and gorgeous illumination in warm amber tones elevated the experience. The cake, a light gray with a geometric pattern and golden cake topper went along with the modern theme and went perfect together with a dessert table full of pavlovas, sweet empanadas and churros.

The couple chose to have sparklers for the cake cutting, and kicked off the party with collective tequila shots. The traditional bouquet and garter tossing happened towards the end of the night, when guests used the fans offered for the warmer ceremony time to cool off a very hot night, typical of Cabo.
