Anjanie may have been surprised by the breathtaking decor, but was certainly blown away by her husband’s personal rendition of “pehli nazar mein” that was sung on bended knee! From the getting ready shots to the release of the lanterns, this wedding was everything that you could ever want for your special day…and more.
These two did such a wonderful job of tying together their personal styles and adding unique details, to make this the wedding of their dreams, and we are so honoured to be able to share it with you lovebirds now.
FROM THE COUPLE:
“We both met in 2010 at IPSL (Industrial Plant Services Limited), where we both worked as lab technicians. Kevin left after 1 year to further his education, whilst I remained. We both kept in touch and realized that we wanted to remain as close as possible.”
“In 2016 Kevin took me to Macqueripe Beach where he always wanted to carry me since I had never been there before.
He got down on one knee when I was not looking, pulled out an engagement ring, and popped the question. I immediately said yes without hesitation, since it was something I was waiting to hear for a very long time…..every girl’s dream as they say.”
“Kevin wore a black Tuxedo comprising of a white tux shirt, suspenders, waist-coat and Tuxedo Jacket. He topped it off with a black bow-tie with white outline. He also wore black alligator pattern shoes.”
What is your fondest memory?
- Wife: “I think this memory will live on forever with me, because what he did no one would have expected. And it’s amazing because now our photographer has pictures to prove how magical that moment truly was. Kevin is not a fan of Indian songs, unlike me – I like a little in between. On that day Kevin went down on his knees and sang a popular Indian song for me “pehli nazar mein”. I was left speechless, amazed, and could not get that smile off of my face.”
- Husband: “I think the fondest memory of that epic night was when she was walking down the aisle. It was the very first time seeing her in her amazing wedding dress. The only thing going through my mind was “waw”. On that day, she looked so beautiful and stunning. I patiently waited for her to walk up the aisle and onto the stage with me. One other memory that made my night was her reaction when I sang for her. I felt like I fell in love with her all over again. Her reaction and facial expression was simply priceless!”
“I tried on so many dresses and went to a lot of bridal stores, and all the dresses I tried on never gave me the fit I was looking for – not even a wow factor. But when I tried this dress on, I just felt so in love. After putting on my wedding dress, I walked out of the dressing room, and by just the look on my mother and the grooms mother’s faces, I knew i had found “the one”.
“We both decided on the colours purple & teal for our colour scheme, as these were colours that always seemed to pop up whilst together. And we were also aware that these were also popular colours for weddings, so why not. As a result we ended up falling in love with these colours. With regard to the decor, this was superbly done by Mr. Carl Hoi Pong (owner of Nia Valley). We had seen his work before and were sold from the very first moment we laid eyes on it.”
“We invited 200 guests to our wedding. We never fancied a big wedding, as we both always pictured something small, simple but yet so beautiful.”
“We had a few special heirloom pieces that we absolutely loved. The groom’s cuff links were engraved – one side with the initals “A&K” & the other “22.07.2017″. Under the bride’s shoe had “I Do” (in blue), and under the groom’s shoe had “Me Too” (in blue).” 🙂
“For our wedding cake, we researched and researched, and finally came up with our design which we wanted to be simple but yet very elegant, and I think we achieved that.”
“We had so many activities planned (Cutting of the cake, throwing of the bouquet, lighting of lanterns, fireworks, first dance). Followed by a performance by Sally Sagram and after, we just danced the night away with our family and friends. We had the time of our lives that would be remembered by everyone who was there.”
“From the pictures that we saw thus far, there were so many amazing and stunning shots, it was very difficult to choose a favourite. However if we did have to, we’d say our favorite was with us kissing while the fireworks were being sent off.
This picture depicted us as being so in love with those fireworks just completing the shot in the background”. 🙂
“For our honeymoon, we decided to travel to Sandals – St. Lucia Grande. It was really a 5 star experience and we both had a fantastic time. It was very relaxing fun filled.”
ANY ADVICE FOR BRIDES-TO-BE/ NEWLY ENGAGED COUPLES?
“Our advice to newly engaged couples would be to enjoy every moment when planning your wedding. When you find it becoming stressful, pause and take a break, and whatever dream wedding you have in mind, it can all be possible, whatever you desire, make it happen. It’s worth it all in the end. These would be memories that would live on for a lifetime.”
