FROM THE COUPLE:
“We are both doctors and we met at the hospital we both work at. We dated for 4 years prior to getting engaged. He proposed in Battery Park City where we had our first official date. It was St. Patrick’s Day!”
“We wanted a destination wedding on a beautiful beach with our closest friends and family. We wanted people to come and have and amazing vacation while celebrating our wedding. It was important to us to have a fun reception with good food, alcohol, and dancing. My colors were neutrals (mostly blush)” says Jill.
“We wanted beach decor. The space was already decorated by the resort. The beach is beautiful. The reception was poolside, and was very pretty already. The resort was covered by beautiful buganvilia, and we didn’t have to add much for the decor since the resort was already gorgeous. We added flowers, string lights and candles for the ceremony and reception.”
“I met with Ernst at Flowers by EA. I saw some bouquets and decor that he used for other weddings and wanted him do something similar. I wanted white and blush flowers with lots of greenery. I wanted glass and silver accents with candles. The bridal bouquet was beautiful and matched all the corsages, boutonnieres, flower crowns, etc. I had 2 large bouquets on the arch on the beach, small pieces on the isles. There were vines and small bouquets at the cocktail hour and bar. There were beautiful centerpieces on the reception tables with the silver and glass accents on the tables with candles which were done beautifully.”
PERSONALIZATIONS FOR THE WEDDING
“We had a steel drum band for the cocktail hour and a DJ for the reception. My husband and I had a choreographed first dance and we had sparklers for the guests!”
“I chose my wedding look and the suits for the groomsman. I had a Berta Muse dress that was strapless and had a sweetheart neckline. It was slightly sheer with embroidered flowers all over and a blush underlay. The bridesmaid dresses were different colours and styles, all neutrals, chiffon, and flowy. My hair was done by a hair stylist from a local salon, same with my makeup. The groomsmen wore mystic blue suits with blush ties” mentions Jill.
THE MOST ANTICIPATED MOMENT
“The first look was amazing. The beach ceremony was gorgeous. The choreographed dance to “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz was very special and anticipated. The sparklers during our first dance were very amazing.”
ANY WEDDING PLANNING ADVICE FOR NEWLY-ENGAGED COUPLES?
“We have super busy work schedules and I found it great to do a destination wedding where most of the planning is done by the resort and the resort wedding planner. Mostly everything is included and there are only a few options to choose from. The best marriage advice is to have good communication and try to decrease stress wherever you can!”
Thank you so much to Jill, Andrew and Paradise Photography for sharing this lovely destination wedding with us!
