Darlings! We will start by wishing you all a very Happy New Year as this is our very first feature for 2019!
To all the newly-engaged beauties here, Congratulations doll! We are so honoured to welcome you to our Luxury Destination Wedding space, and we cannot wait to shower you with all the goodness that the Caribbean & Mexico have to offer.
For our first feature for 2019, we thought we’d start at home – sweet T&T. Though it may not be quite known (yet!) for Destination Weddings worldwide, this fun-loving country has so many talented wedding professionals, and gorgeous untouched spaces for weddings.
Now we don’t know about you guys, but when it comes to love, we’re pretty certain that it is never black and white. You rarely hear about the “love at first sight” stories, and most times, it’s a bit of cat and mouse for some time, until both parties realise that they have found the one that they simply cannot live without. For Jadelle and Jayron, that’s exactly how their love story began.
Keep scrolling lovebirds, because you’re in for a really charming wedding photographed by AW member Cheers Visual Communications.
FROM THE COUPLE:
HOW THEY MET
“A mutual friend of ours who loves to play cupid introduced us in 2009. Around and around we went denying the inevitable. We were friends, more than friends, and even frenemies, but the dating thing was not working out and we lost touch for a few years. Fast forward to a chance meeting at a function held at NAPA in 2014 where I was a guest and Jayron was at work and our love story began (again!). Jayron messaged me at what-o-clock at night to rekindle the old flame. He thought he was being so smooth with a casual, “Goodnight Ms. Holder”. Meanwhile, I had no idea who it was and was annoyed that someone was sending me a Whatsapp at that late hour, so I responded the next morning with, “Who is this?’. Turns out it was my future husband! ( Jayron claims to have remembered my number after all those years because it reminds him of his old job at 94.1 but we all know better! )” says Jadelle.
“Jayron proposed on my birthday (Nov 11th) using Spanish cupcakes! It was super cute. He planned out the entire thing with little surprises throughout the day (love notes, a surprise beach trip, flowers, photo albums). It all culminated in dinner and a surprise overnight stay at the Hyatt which included an overnight bag packed by Jayron for me which we can only call interesting (picture me at brunch the next morning in a home dress and high heels)!
The proposal took place after dinner. I thought she was getting birthday cake but I instead got cupcakes which read “Te quieres casar conmigo?” After checking to make sure the grammar and spelling were correct…
I said yes!”
“After making a downpayment on a venue in POS, we went to Freebird for brunch and loved it. Five weeks before our wedding date, we got a call saying that the venue in POS was unavailable. After the initial shock wore off, we decided to see if Freebird was available. It had everything that we originally wanted and felt like it was meant to be. We got our garden wedding ceremony at a venue that wasn’t too overdone and had an air conditioned area that could accommodate the reception but still flowed seamlessly into the outdoor garden. It was a bonus that we didn’t have to leave the venue to take pictures also” says Jadelle.
THE WEDDING DRESS
“The dress was designed by Martin Thornburg and purchased through DK Bridal and Formal wear. When it arrived, I requested to get adjustments done by the store, but at the final fitting I didn’t particularly like them, so I took the dress to Van der Vlugt who designs gorgeous wedding dresses and evening wear, and she made the final adjustments to make the dress just perfect!” says Jadelle.
“The decor we chose was earthy, to complement the garden theme. It was simple and elegant. We went with ivory, gold and a little navy blue for our colours as we didn’t want anything too fussy that would take away from the natural beauty that surrounded us.”
“We chose Hadassah Noel/ Cheers Visual Communications as our wedding photographer, and she was amazing! You would never know that the groomsmen were busy joking around, the bridesmaids were occupied taking selfies, and the couple’s daughter was sick and cranky. She pulled everyone together when it was time take the shots, captured the candid moments and allowed everyone to have their fun while maintaining her professionalism. I’d definitely recommend her!” mentions Jadelle.

FAVOURITE MOMENTS FROM THE COUPLE’S WEDDING. WHAT STOOD OUT THE MOST?
This wedding was so epic, several moments stood out to me that just made the day my best wedding for 2018!
- Firstly, the bride making her entrance through the rustic beauty of a venue being serenaded live by Freetown Collective playing and singing from an overlooking “Roof Top”. It was simply magical.
- The well organized reception was concise and to the point. The great speeches were fluid, humorous and perceptive – perfect for the cocktail styled standing crowd waiting to party, and party they did. The reception was nothing short of fantastic, the groom being a professional DJ himself. When he took to the microphone, that was it, the crowd exploded. They say your wedding reflects your personality…well theirs was simply perfection!
Thank you to Jadelle, Jayron and Cheers Visual Communications for sharing this sweet album with us!
