Hey there friends! So we cannot believe how quickly these past few days have flown by. It feels like just yesterday we were launching this awesome Engagement Series, and yet here we are…on to Part 3!

So, without further ado, let’s get right into the good stuff and see where you’re at in the planning process, after you’ve officially got engaged. At this point you should have already…celebrated the amazing news, set a possible budget, and chosen three possible dates to work with. Whew, that’s a lot!

If you haven’t yet carried out any of the aforementioned steps, then that’s ok. Just take your time, and enjoy the process. If it’s a bit overwhelming at the moment, and life is getting in the way of your plans, then just take a couple weeks, and dive right back into it. And if you need an extra hand, we’re always here to help.

OK! So, here are the three next steps to get you in tip top shape!

Yay! It’s gifting time guys! The moment that guests start finding out about your special day, they’re going to start thinking up of all the possible gift options that they can give you, trust us.

Many shy away from this step early on, and opt to register later, but in our opinion, it’s never too early to register for your gifts. In this way you’re not only helping yourself by getting one more step out of the way, but also your family and friends, since they would know early on what you and your fiancé would be interested in. Hooray!

The best move here during your engagement, would be to choose your registry companies wisely. Look at three options (internationally and locally) for your gifts to make it easier to manage. It will work in your favour in the long run.

Prepping questions in advance is a huge help with this step. Take a look at a few options to consider asking:

  1. Have you ever worked at my chosen venue(s)?
  2. I love your style, can you show me a few more examples of unique work that you have done?
  3. Are there any ideas that you think would make a huge difference in my wedding?
  4. Do you work alone or with a team?
  5. Have you ever worked with any of my chosen wedding professionals?
  6. Do you have your own preferred vendor list?
  7. If you have packages, what are they?
  8. Do you do custom jobs for clients based on their budgets?

Most couples tend to look for wedding professionals 10-12 months before their wedding day, to give themselves enough time to explore the market, and to hone in on their preferred style. The earlier you start looking during your engagement, the easier the process will be moving forward.

It’s Proposal time friends…for YOU! If you’re the creative type, then you can have a blast with this step. Whatever you do, ask these individuals as soon as possible since you will definitely require their assistance!

Be genuine and sincere in asking them, and remember that they would be taking time out of their very hectic schedules to assist you in any way that they can. For fun, you could take them out to lunch and discuss all the details, or even plan a girl’s trip to show them just how much you love them. Bridal showers, Bachelorette parties and so much more awaits. Have fun and celebrate like never before!
