Oh wow are you in for something amazing today! For today’s feature, we’re calling all cave loving couples, because this entire photoshoot was done in a cenote…underwater…and best of part of all, it was NOT a Trash the dress session! What?!
Evan and Dawn’s adventurous spirits are just what we needed this week. Along with their fantastic photographer, this couple decided to put tradition aside, and have their very own underwater dip in a cenote in Tulum the day before they said “I do”.
Now this was our first time learning about this special spot, so you could only imagine our excitement when we researched it a bit more and discovered that Dos Ojos Cenote is a stunning sinkhole located between Tulum and Playa del Carmen.
It is one of the most popular spots for adventure lovers and tourists, and we can definitely understand why. The water is so blue and beautiful, the rock structures are fabulous and it is fantastic for snorkelling and diving. It’s a must if you’re looking to explore something unique and spectacular, and this couple definitely did not hesitate to do so when they chose to tie the knot in Tulum! So dive right in to this feature loves, because it is a definite YES in our books.

FROM THE PHOTOGRAPHER:
When Evan and Dawn asked me to photograph their wedding in Tulum, I insisted that we take a dip in a cenote while we were there. They’d been thinking about the same thing! Because we had to schedule this session the day before their wedding, they couldn’t wear their wedding attire, but they found stand-in attire so we could swim and be carefree without worrying about damaging anything!
Cenote Dos Ojos was the perfect setting; the water was warm and clear, and full of water lilies and little fish who kept following us around and nibbling us. So funny and they looked great in the photos!

Thank you so much to Evan, Dawn and Chris Wojdak Photography for sharing this dreamy underwater photoshoot with us!
