Happy Wedding Wednesday lovebirds. Today we have the perfect Engagement session for you to read with a cup of coffee, and maybe a bag of chocolates! (You just can’t go wrong with chocolate).
With the inclusion of the world’s cutest bulldog shot in the Cayman Islands, this Engagement shoot will forever hold a spot in our puppy loving hearts. Could you blame us? We have always had a soft spot for animals, and adore when couples include them in their Engagement or wedding day. It adds such a unique touch to the event, and makes it so much more memorable.
We are so completely in love with this Engagement shoot, and we’re sure you’re going to love it too!

“Was it love at first sight? No. There’s no such thing… just kidding! (haha). After a few years of getting to know each other on a friend level, a romantic connection began to form.”
“We met in our first year of university, where we both attended several courses together.”
“We got engaged at Veranda Restaurant at the Marriott Grand Cayman hotel. After sharing a cocktail while walking the beautiful Seven Mile Beach, I arrived back to a gorgeous private table set on the white sands and covered in rose petals. After my fiancé got down on one knee we spent the rest of the evening watching the sunset, drinking champagne and enjoying a romantic private dinner.”
“It has been an unbelievable journey. We have had our ups and downs as with any relationship. However, after getting engaged not much has changed, as we have been together for so many years and know each other so well. We are really excited for what the future has in store for us.”
“We would have to say that asking our friends to be part of our bridal party has been the best moment thus far. And of course, I would add finding my wedding dress as well!”
“Trying to plan a wedding from 7703 miles away has been a challenge to say the least. We currently live in the Cayman Islands, but will be getting married back in South Africa. It has been a bit of a logistical nightmare, but we are hopeful all will work out on the big day.”
“We are getting married in Durban, South Africa – which is where we both grew up. We chose to get married there because it holds a special place in our hearts and all of our family and friends still live there as well.”
Just to fill you in on a little bridal fashion:
“My wedding Dress is by Casey Jeanne, and the Grooms’ Suit and Accessories by Suit Yourself and Grand Frank respectively.”
ANY ADVICE FOR NEWLY ENGAGED COUPLES?
“Most importantly to enjoy the process of planning and not let small things upset or annoy you. Start planning well in advance, as it will really help to reduce stress levels. Ensure that the service providers you are interested in are available on our big day. Oh and most importantly… Don’t be Bridezilla ;).”
Special thank you to the lovely couple Jena and Gareth, and the amazing Jenna Leigh Photography for sharing these images with us!
