Hi Love. First of all, we want to send so much love to you right now. How are you? We know that the past few weeks have been painful and trying, but we hope that this beautiful destination wedding from Mexico demonstrates that love still exists and that is it powerful beyond measure.
After having re-scheduled their plans, the photographer Daniela Villarreal received an exciting call from the couple in April stating that there was going to be a wedding a bit sooner, and their amazing wedding planner was going to be putting things into motion! The church had informed them of an update due to the pandemic, and Carla and Javier decided to take the plunge and tie the knot sooner than later, and we couldn’t be happier that they did. The photographs from their wedding truly brought tears to ours eyes, and gave us so much hope for our future couples.
Special thank you to Daniela Villarreal for sharing this intimate love story with us and enjoy this breathtaking celebration!
FROM THE PHOTOGRAPHER:
ABOUT THE COUPLE
Both are from Monterrey Mx, living in San Pedro Garza Garcia. Carla is a certified fitness coach and Javier is currently under the online selling business.
Carla has been my friend since we were 20 years old! Of course, this makes it even more special than it already was.
WISH LIST FROM THE COUPLE
The wedding was scheduled for May 2 with around 250 guests, but since Covid-19, they arranged to get married (taking all the necessary precautions) on April 24, before Monterrey was going into phase 3. They reduced the guests numbers by just celebrating with their close family (21 persons) and an intimate ceremony with no extra guests.
Since the beginning they wanted a different concept, very classy but with a taste of modern details.
THE WEDDING VENUE
I have to say that the wedding planner Alain did an AMAZING JOB. I was and am actually still surprised!
Originally the wedding was re-scheduled for May 2, with no guests just a celebration of the ceremony with their close families. I received a call from them 2 days before, since we were about to go into phase 3, they got noticed from the church that if they waited one more week, they weren’t going to be able to celebrate the ceremony.
So they decided to make it happen that same week, so this means Alain got everything together in literally 2 DAYS!
Also, it was supposed to happen at a gorgeous salon, of course they couldn’t do it there, so they used the groom’s parent’s backyard for the gorgeous celebration. This is why I was even more surprised. Alain got all the vendors together (with all the necessary precautions) and he really turned this backyard into a magical place. Everyone was shocked!
THE WEDDING DRESS
When I arrived to the getting ready, I heard “the dress is ready in the next room”.
When I went in to the room and saw this gorgeous dress I was amazed. I love simplicity. This was the perfect combination, the fabric of this dress had the perfect movement for a blissful and fearless bride – just like Carla.
Champagne! These two love everything about champagne. Of course, they were accompanied with a fine selection of fruits and cheeses.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR SERVICES FOR COUPLES
I love destination weddings! The magic of getting into a place and getting to know all these incredible people, celebrating love, just makes my heart full.
I know these times are not the best for traveling or visiting other places, but I’m really looking forward to the next few months! I have some other intimate weddings around Mexico that I’m sure are going to be beautiful too.
After photographing this wedding in the middle of a pandemic, what I can say is:
- Less is more
- Magic happens if you have the support from the right vendors
- Dream weddings are possible, even in the middle of a pandemic
It would definitely would be after the ceremony. When they went out of the church, some close friends were waiting for them outside with music, balloons, shouting and sharing the happiness with the newlyweds. The bride and groom of course didn’t know about this, so they were really emotional and surprised.
To document a wedding in the middle of a pandemic definitely wasn’t my plan, and after this day I have to say that thinking about it taught me a lot.
It showed me that love knows no limits, no distances, no rules, no judgments, no time, no space. Love is just love, and as far as we are from understanding how this powerful energy works and what really is capable of, for the moment we are lucky enough to have the capacity to feel it. These two reminded me that no matter what is happening around us, even at the darkest times, love is there, waiting for us.
Thank you to the darling couple for sharing their special day with us!
