Our adorable couple, Annie and Brian did such a fantastic job of incorporating personalised elements from their family and friends into their wedding day. From the custom designed table numbers from the groom’s sister and the groom’s ring which was crafted from gold melted from their grandfathers, to the beautiful guest book from the groom’s brother which was a thumbprint tree that guests could sign, this special celebration was one that Annie and Brian will never forget.
We’ll let the beautiful couple share all about their experiences below, so keep reading for more…
FROM THE COUPLE:
We live and work in New York City, so choosing the peace, beauty and warmth of Cabo was a natural one. After getting engaged in Mexico and trying to find a spot where we could relax and enjoy ourselves with our friends and family, The Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal was an easy choice to make. Annie knew the hotel and its staff through her work with the property and we picked it for the incredible service, stunning location, and delicious food and drinks. The resort was exceptional with their hospitality for both us and our guests, so much so that we returned for our one year anniversary.
Each element of our wedding was chosen to express a feeling, highlight a cherished memory and to cultivate an ambiance of comfort and love. We tried to incorporate all that we could from our families. Brian’s ring was made of gold from rings of both our grandfathers, his sister made the table “numbers” (places we’ve visited around the world), and his brother made our Guest Book, which was a thumbprint tree that guests stamped and signed. The seaside ceremony on the beach provided a dramatic location that highlighted the profound beauty of the environment. Our goal was to bring everyone to a state of relaxed, celebratory happiness. The cocktail hour on the Champagne Terrace was a highlight. Sara and Ramon used this time to capture combinations of us and all our guests in a perfect Cabo sunset. Many of the shots from this time are hanging on our walls and each quickly brings us back to those special first moments.
We tried to pay homage to the winter season with warm-colored flowers and incorporated Mexican culture into our celebration through Otomi weavings. The lighting and décor were chosen to be simple, functional, and beautiful. Our dinner was served family style, which was a favorite of our guests and led to a warm and informal evening of toasts and laughs. Eating seaside with the Pacific crashing just feet from where we were sitting really accentuated the special feeling of the evening. One of the more practical and best parts of getting married in Cabo is the world class group of vendors. Everyone the hotel recommended was incredibly talented. It made our day very enjoyable. From flowers to video, DJ, rentals, makeup – we couldn’t have been happier.
The choice to go with Sara and Ramon, aside from the choice to spend our lives together, was the best decision we made throughout the wedding process. They were a true pleasure to work with before, during, and after our event and their work was inspired. The memories captured by Sara and Ruben are now part of our family’s story and hold a special place in our hearts and in our home.
Special thank you to Annie, Brian and Sara Richardson Photography for sharing this amazing love story with us!
