Good day lovely people! We missed you last week, but are so thrilled to be back with another gorgeous feature to share with you all today!
Despite the ongoing pandemic, our couples are still choosing love, and we can’t tell you how incredible that makes us feel. Choosing love during a time of complete uncertainty must be quite tough, but week after week, we see so many posts in our feed, receive so many emails in our inbox from couples who just got married and read many stories online of couples from around the world who decided to tie the knot, marry the love of their life, even if the style is a bit different from what they had originally planned.
Alyssa and Jerard’s wedding day was one of the special emails that we received and it brought tears to our eyes because not only was their wedding day absolutely lovely, but it also took place at home – Trinidad & Tobago. Now if you’re from Trinidad & Tobago or have any knowledge of what we’re currently experiencing, you would know that it has been extremely difficult for the wedding & event industry. Our country actually re-opened their borders in July after having them closed from since March 2020…our events are still at quite a small number…weddings are almost non-existent due to the pandemic and health concerns…and we truly cannot say when things will get better, but we are hopeful.
So when we saw this wedding from Celeste & Reece, we knew that it would uplift and inspire other couples who have had to change their plans. We hope that this gentle piece of inspiration makes you smile, keeps you going and encourages you to say, “I do” even if things don’t yet look or seem the way that we would all like.
Love you all, and please do not hesitate to reach out if you’d like any assistance in connecting to the very best in sweet T&T for your wedding day.
FROM THE COUPLE:
We were introduced at a party by a mutual friend. We were both in relationships at the time lol but coincidentally both ended soon after and we eventually got together. I guess true love is inevitable!
We purchased a property with the intention to build our dream home about 3 years ago. One month before construction started, Jerard insisted we go to the property to say a little prayer. We held hands, closed our eyes and he began to pray. When the prayer finished and I opened my eyes, there he was, down on one knee with the most beautiful ring in his hand. He said he wanted me to be ‘HIS FOREVER in HIS FOREVER HOME’ :-). It was the sweetest, most special proposal, one that I will remember forever.
THE DECOR THEME
We chose an elegant garden theme as the wedding was being held outdoors. Getting married amidst beautiful flowers and the natural landscape was a dream come true.
THE WEDDING DRESS
It was literally love at first sight! I chose the dress without even trying it on as the vendor did not have it in my size. Sounds crazy I know but something about that dress spoke to me. It was exactly what I wanted; a unique dress that was sexy yet sophisticated. It fit my personality perfectly and I received numerous compliments on our special day. Most importantly hubby loved it!
THE WEDDING CAKE
We found a picture of a weddings cake on pinterest that matched our wedding theme. The baker was able to recreate this design perfectly. The cake was not only beautiful but tasted delicious!
After viewing several locations we finally decided on a Villa in Tobago Plantations, Tobago. The vila was absolutely beautiful and offered my husband and I exactly what we were looking for. He always dreamed of getting married on the beach and I loved the idea of a garden wedding. Therefore this location was perfect, it was located right along the beach which we used for the ceremony and the grounds of the villa was spacious and beautiful which was ideal for the reception.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE YOUR WEDDING PLANNER?
We are so happy we did! Asha Mars and her team were amazing from beginning to end. Asha definitely took the stress out of wedding planning and made it so fun and easy. She took our ideas and brought them to reality, probably better than we even envisioned. On the day, Asha and her team were exceptional, leaving us with little to nothing to have to coordinate or to worry about. We got to thoroughly enjoy our special day.
FONDEST MEMORIES FROM THE WEDDING
One of our most special moments was seeing our friends and family sit in the rain to witness our nuptials. We had an outdoor wedding and just as I was about to walk down the aisle rain started drizzling (showers of blessings). It was heartwarming to see that not one of our 50 guests got up to take shelter from the rain. It was a beautiful ceremony and this made it even more special as it was clear to see how much we were loved.
ANY ADVICE FOR NEWLY-ENGAGED COUPLES?
Make the investment and hire a wedding planner…you won’t regret it! This definitely took the stress off of wedding planning and made the process so enjoyable.
