They say that life is an adventure, filled to the brim with unexpected twists and turns that all make up our own unique path to get you to where you are truly meant to be. Truthfully, we completely agree with us, and we think our couple of the week would definitely agree as well.
After having met through a friend and parting ways not once but twice, Alejandra and Miguel decided that they couldn’t wait another day, and decided to become a couple, live together, and finally call each other husband and wife.
Their love story is just the cutest thing, and their wedding photographs are simply breathtaking! So dive into our feature of the week captured so perfectly by Daniela Villarreal!

FROM THE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER:
HOW THE COUPLE MET
The story began a few years ago. Both Alejandra and Miguel are from Torreón but they met in Mexico City.
Miguel met Ale´s best friend, at some point they worked together and she offered him a room in her apartment, 840 (apartment where they all lived). A year after Miguel was in that apartment he had an opportunity to go to the US and at that moment Ale decided to go live in Mexico City. Her best friend told her that his roommate was about to leave (Miguel) and she could stay with his room and apart with her work. Ale met Miguel 1 month before he left for the US, she kept his things, he sold her his bed, he left her his job (they are both designers) and that’s it, Miguel was gone.
A year after Miguel had left for the US, he returned and asked Ale and her best friend for a room in 840 while he got a place.
In those 3 months in which he got an apartment and a job they started to get along very well, it was more that obvious they already felt something. A few months passed and they started dating a little more. After a while, Miguel got a job offer in Dallas, so they said goodbye (for the second time) but now with doubts if what they had was something real or if it was fleeting.
One day Miguel, living in Dallas, wrote to Ale and at that moment they couldn’t stop talking. He proposed to go to CDMX to visit Ale, he arrived at 840 and Ale was super nervous. At that moment she knew that the feeling was real.
They spent 8 months away, visiting each other every month, until Miguel decided to return and at that moment they began to live together and to this day, already married, they are very happy with that decision.
THE COUPLE’S WISH LIST
Since the beginning they knew they wanted a very relaxed wedding, that their guests felt in a quiet, comfortable place, with good music, good food and good wine. To let it flow in the most organic way possible.
THE WEDDING VENUE
Ale and Miguel felt that the perfect spot would be any space where you have the people you love next to you. Due to the pandemic they had to change the venue. At the end, the place exceeded their expectations by a million.
The attention, the food and that view. It was the perfect.
THE WEDDING DRESS
¨The dress, like everything at our wedding, had several facets. The designer was Josá Silva, Creative Director of Trista. The talent of Josá and his team, the showroom, the experience, the detail, it was superior to what I expected¨ says Ale.
The first dress was all drama, very loaded, many details, incredible. Then she decided something more sober, until it finished with a contemporary dress. It was very minimal compared to everything we had in mind, the result was incredible, the dress was totally Ale.
WERE THERE ANY SPECIAL REQUESTS?
Days before the wedding we had a meet to discuss the final details. They told me they are not that into posing so they wanted very candid moments (which I love the most!) for their wedding.

FAVOURITE MOMENTS FROM THE COUPLE’S SPECIAL DAY
There were a lot of favorite moments at this wedding!
At the getting ready, seeing the joy of Ale and Miguel´s family. Also the first look and the ceremony was full of emotions. They waited until this moment to see each other and they also had some of their closest ones saying speeches.
At the portraits too, it was a moment when I got a chance to see them just being themselves and melting for each other. I love portraying this uniqueness of couples, and finally the reception was SO FUN! Everyone was having a blast (including me).
What I can say about this wedding? Ale and Miguel showed me the kind of love I like to document – that unique, pure and honest way of loving each other. They reminded me the reason why I love documenting love stories.

Special thank you to Alejandra, Miguel and Daniela Villarreal for sharing this amazing wedding with us!
