Happy Valentine’s Day sweethearts! Whether you have V-Day plans with your S.O. or you’re just relaxing at home with a yummy box of chocolates, we thought we’d make your day even more special with a charming elopement from the beautiful island of Barbados.
Here’s a little piece of the special day from the incredible photographer, Brit Nicole Photography:
“Photographers, videographer, and officiant took off to Barbados for an intimate cliffside destination elopement. This wildly in love couple didn’t care about getting wet, playing in the water or having the wind blow a million miles an hour by the ocean. All they cared about was getting to marry each other and be soul mates for life.
I had looked around and found the perfect spot for the ceremony and was very thankful that the couple completely trusted my judgment of taking control of the elopement. So we all got up at 4am to hitch a ride to the cliffside.”
Read on for more from this smashing elopement now guys, and have the best day with your loved ones!
FROM THE BRIDE:
HOW THEY MET
I was in Wichita, KS training a new employee for a week in May 2017. I decided to stay through the weekend when a colleague talked me into getting on Bumble and going on a date to get a “free dinner” while in town. I was not into the dating scene and was not very familiar with dating apps but thought it would be fun to try. I “swiped right” and when he liked me back I gave a charming and original pick up line of “hi” to which he replied, “I don’t know about you but I could use a drink.” You see, it was Cinco de Mayo but he had no intention of going to actually have drinks that evening. He was making small talk while he was visiting his parents and falling asleep on their couch watching tv. I was not aware of this and headed to the bar to wait for him there. Needless to say, I guilt-tripped him into meeting me. We spent the entire weekend together and the next weekend I was meeting him in Dallas. I fell in love and knew I couldn’t let this man go. 13 days later I was moving to Wichita, KS from Amarillo, TX and we got an apartment together. Can you say “fools rush in?!”
FAVOURITE MEMORY FROM THE DESTINATION ELOPEMENT?
I asked Steven this question and his response was him taking off his blindfold and seeing me for the first time as I am about to walk down to marry him and immediately following that special moment was me getting stuck on a rock! I think my favorite is being in one of the most beautiful places of all God’s creation and not being able to take my eyes off of him. Another great memory is how much fun we had the entire morning. There was no stress or worries. Everything was absolutely perfect. Even the unperfect was perfect. If that makes any sense.
ANY ADVICE FOR FUTURE BRIDES?
Two pieces of advice to future brides: Remember that this special moment is for you and your future husband. No one else! Decide what is the right way for both of you to enter marriage together. And second, enjoy the season of being engaged. You only get to say fiance for a short span of time. Cherish it!
Special thanks to the sweet couple for sharing their fun elopement with us!
