FROM THE COUPLE:
HOW THEY MET
Ben and I met at the office in New York City. We sat just a few seats away from each other and became friends quickly. We both had a passion for traveling and the outdoors. He proposed in Vermont—near his hometown—on a hiking trail. It was one of the most beautiful sceneries I had ever seen. Being a city girl, the mountains in the distance along with the lake and the man of my dreams on one knee was a breathtaking view.
THE INSPIRATION
We were inspired by simple modern elegance. We love different shades of blue and neutral tones, which is why we chose a dusty blue colour palette. We love traditional weddings and incorporated several Christian elements throughout our special day.
THE WEDDING DECOR
We chose simple white flowers with plenty of greenery and blue ribbon to compliment our color palette. We aligned the wedding aisle with white carpet and white rose petals. We made DIY cones for the flower petal toss upon the ceremony’s finish. Our florist focused on greenery for our reception tables. He dramatized the evening with gold candelabra and hanging floating lights.
THE FLORALS
White roses and eucalyptus were the main florals of our wedding. This was used on all our bouquets and centerpieces. They were crucial to complete the modern, simple theme we wanted.
THE FASHION
Following the simply elegant theme, I chose a strapless, ivory, fit-and-flare with a crepe style fabric. The detail was in the cut and geometric flare at the bottom. Covered buttons running down the back of my dress were my favorite part. Ben wore a navy Hugo Boss tux with a white button down and black buttons.
THE PERSONALIZATIONS
One of my favorite parts of our wedding was the petal toss upon the bride and groom’s exit of the ceremony. It made for a spectacular photo and unforgettable memory.
SPECIAL MOMENTS
The most special moment of our wedding day was walking down the aisle. We had not arranged a first look before the ceremony. It was nerve wrecking. I loved the genuine happiness and excitement which was visually apparent between us as soon as we saw each other.
